5th century Denmark again.

 

From the forests and the shadows, Grendel has watched the ascent of man with fascination and horror. From ragged bands of killers to kingdoms, armies, treasure and mead halls. He means them no harm, but one night, he is discovered and they try to kill him. Outraged, he resolves to take terrible revenge. 

 

For the next 12 long years, he raids the king’s hall, slaughtering and devouring his warriors. Until the day The Stranger arrives.
